煎茶 あさのか (Sencha asa no ka) Asanoka cultivar Steeped Tea

A rare tea produced from the Asanoka cultivar by tea maker Kyouko Sata, on the island of Kyushu. The infusion if rich and creamy with corn and spinach notes with a sweet melon finish. Asanoka translates into the meaning “the fragrance of the morning”

The appearance of this tea is a dark rich green with an aroma of grain. The leaves are a mix of long skinny leaves which steep in a very bright emerald infusion.

This style of Japanese green tea steeps best with a controlled quick infusion with lower temperature to prevent over steeping. Don’t skip the second infusion, it is best brewed back to back with the first!
