Shangri-La Gold - Nepal (org)
This tea is produced near the Himalayas in Ilam district of Nepal, close to the Indian boarder. Shangri-La is a tea garden that is nourished by pure water from the Himalayas and grown free of pesticides by small farmers that own their own land. The leaves have a light twist, and an abundance of golden tips with the down still in tact on the edges.
This tea steeps with an aroma of dried leaves and malted barley while the infusion gives way to mild cocoa notes and a wisp of heady floral rose as is characteristic from high grown tea leaves. The tea is lightly astringent, but with such a well hand made full leaf, the tea can handle a full steep with near boiling water without becoming unbalanced.
